When to Replace Business Network Equipment
How to tell whether your issue needs a redesign, cleanup, or replacement of aging equipment.
Replace equipment when
- The hardware is obsolete or unsupported
- The equipment cannot handle the number of connected devices
- Business needs outgrew the original design
- You need capabilities the current hardware cannot provide
Do not replace equipment just because
- Someone rebooted it a few times
- No one understands the current configuration
- Access points are placed badly
- Guest and business traffic were never separated properly
A review of the current environment, cleanup of the existing design, better documentation, and selective upgrades often solve the real problem more effectively than replacing everything at once.
